Foundation Scholarships

Open to junior or senior chemistry majors at UW-Eau Claire planning to be a teacher. The applicant shall have completed the requirements for admission to the School of Education. Recipient should have financial need; with the student have the greatest financial need meeting the above requirements being selected.

Applicants should pick up an application form in the Chemistry Department office. Return completed application form to the Chair of the Chemistry Department Awards Committee.

Determined annually by the department

The Chemistry Department Awards Committee, based on stated criteria, will choose the recipient.

The recipient will be informed by letter. The Chair of the Chemistry Department Awards Committee shall complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” for the recipient to the Financial Aid office.

Anna Thurston was a long time chemistry professor at UW-Eau Claire. The late Charlotte Grinsel specified that a portion of her estate be added to the Anna M. Thurston Scholarship Fund established on the retirement of Ms. Thurston form the University.
