ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and who meet the following criteria: must be registered for, enrolled in or have completed a course in taxation at UW-Eau Claire; have a cumulative grade point average earned at UW-Eau Claire of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale; need at least nine additional credits to complete the baccalaureate degree at UW-Eau Claire; must not be a habitual user, or must not have been a habitual user during the past 24 months, of tobacco in any form; must complete and submit an application setting forth the information needed to verify the applicant’s qualifications including a signed statement giving consent that the scholarship application data may be verified by those officially charged with the review of the application or recommendation concerning the scholarship. A “course in taxation” means any course that has a goal/objective of providing an understanding of Federal or state law pertaining to one or more of the following: income tax, sales tax, gift tax, estate tax, and inheritance tax. A “course in taxation” shall also include any course that has a goal/objective of providing an understanding of how to research Federal or state law pertaining to any of the aforementioned taxes.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Applications are available from the Department of Accounting and Finance Scholarship Chair.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Applications become available the week before spring break and are due the week after spring break.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Selection of the recipient will be made by the Department of Accounting and Finance Scholarship Committee.
SELECTION DEADLINE: Determined annually by the
Department.
NOTIFICATION:
The Chair will notify the recipient by letter and complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The recipient is expected to write a thank you letter to Mr. Edsel Grams and forward it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield 214.
