She graduated from high school in St. Cloud in June 1932. She attended St. Cloud Teacher’s College and graduated with a degree in elementary education. In 1942, she married Byron Anderson, who served in the army during World War II. Following his discharge, they moved to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, where Bryon was the Executive Vice President of First National Bank. He passed away in 1990, at the age of 77. They celebrated 48 years of marriage. Patricia, “Pat”, taught elementary school in Chippewa Falls for 28 years until her retirement in 1980. She taught second grade at Chestnut School. Upon her retirement, she was presented a “Distinguished Service Award” from the Governor and the state of Wisconsin. She loved her P.E.O. Chapter. One of the main purposes of P.E.O. is to enable women to become better educated with any financial help that P.E.O. can offer. Before she died, she wanted to set up some type of scholarship fund which would further help women who might otherwise be unable to complete their degree. Patricia had a love for P.E.O. and her belief in what it continues to do to help women. Patricia lived in Eau Claire at the time of her death on September 8, 2011. She was 86. Letters of appreciation should be addressed to the PEO Sisterhood Chapter AP of Eau Claire and sent to the Foundation Office, Schofield 214. |
