AVAILABLE: ANNUALLY
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Native American student. Preference will be shown for Wisconsin residents and members of Wisconsin tribes. Good academic standing. Demonstrated artistic talent. Pursuing a degree program in an artistic discipline. Artistic discipline is meant broadly to include visual, performing and literary arts.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Applicants should submit the following: completed application form; at least two letters of recommendation and portfolio of work and/or reviews. Application forms are available from American Indian Program, UW-Eau Claire, WI 54702-4004. Applications should be submitted to this address also.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 1
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The American Indian Program Coordinator will review applications.
SELECTION DEADLINE: April 3
NOTIFICATION:
By letter. Whenever possible, the award will take place during the Wisconsin Indian Arts Festival or other appropriate event. The AIS Director will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The Awards Committee reserves the right not to issue an award if no completed and qualified applicants submit an application. A thank you note should be sent to Sondra McFarland, c/o UWEC Foundation Office.
