AMOUNT: 2 @ $1,800 (might be renewals only)
AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Two awards of $1,800 each are available annually. One award is available to a nontraditional student in the College of Arts and Sciences, graduate or undergraduate, who is enrolled at least half time and whose cumulative GPA is 3.5 or above. The other award is available to a nontraditional student majoring in English in either the College of Arts and Sciences or College of Education and Human Sciences, graduate or undergraduate, who is enrolled at least half time and whose GPA is 3.5 or above.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Scholarships may be renewed for up to seven subsequent years provided the recipient maintains an overall GPA of at least 3.5 and maintains at least half time enrollment. Nontraditional Student Services (715-836-3259) can provide information regarding whether new scholarships are available or they are in the renewal phase only. Application forms are available online at www.uwec.edu/NSS/scholarships/index.htm or from Nontraditional Student Services (NSS), Schofield 226, 715- 836-3259, and should be turned in to NSS by March 1st.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 1
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Applications for the Arts and Sciences award will be reviewed by the NSS Office; for the English awards, by the Department of English. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic performance or evidence of academic potential, financial need, and quality of essay.
SELECTION DEADLINE: Mid June
NOTIFICATION:
The Selection Committee notifies the recipient. Enclosed with the notification letter shall be a biographical sketch of Clara B. Small explaining why this scholarship came to exist. The Committee Chair completes and submits a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office for each recipient.
