Foundation Scholarships

Snudden, Mary Memorial Education

The student must be an undergraduate elementary education major and have completed, or be completing, the Junior Block; have completed, or be completing, the Category II (Natural Sciences) component of the General Education Requirements for Education; be recommended by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction for his/her student teaching experience; be a full-time student with a resident GPA of 3.00; have demonstrated excellent potential as an elementary teacher and be interested in environmental education.

Qualifying students will receive an email in December with scholarship application information. Also, visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Complete the form and submit it to the Education Scholarship Committee. Ask two members of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction faculty, who are familiar with your achievements at the University, to submit letters of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee.

Mid-February. Visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Exact deadline will be in Scholarship Applications Directions.

Selection will be made by the Education Scholarship Committee and a representative from the Biology Department. The scholarship will be paid while the student is student teaching (either fall or spring semester).

The Education and Human Sciences Associate Dean will make notification to the recipient by letter and complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

The recipient should send a thank you note to Birdell Snudden in care of the Foundation Office.
