Slagg, William E Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students majoring in Biology who have demonstrated potential in the field of biology, shown scholastic achievement and have financial need. Recipients should exhibit good moral character.

Second Monday in March

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Department of Biology Scholarship Committee, which has faculty representation from the major subdisciplines of biology. Applications will be evaluated both in terms of their academic merit and their compatibility with award eligibility criteria.

April 30 prior to academic year

The Department Chair will inform the recipients by letter. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.

William Slagg first started teaching at “Eau Claire Normal School” in 1918 in Biology and Agriculture. He retired from UW-Eau Claire in 1952. A gift from William’s estate established this scholarship fund in 1966. Recipient should write a thank you note to the family of William Slagg and submit it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214.
