AMOUNT: $200.00 AVAILABLE: Annually ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The recipient must be a nontraditional (25 years of age or older) undergraduate student who is admitted to the Nursing program and is in good academic standing with both the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the university. Financial need must also be demonstrated.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application Forms: Students who are admitted to the nursing program at UW-Eau Claire will receive an email in late February/early March when the scholarship application is ready and available. The email will include the path to the online application forms located on the Department of Nursing website – www.uwec.edu/CONHS/students/nursscholarships.htm. Part One is filled online and submitted electronically. Part Two (the essay and activities form) is filled online and printed off, signed and submitted to the Dean’s Assistant Office, Nursing 103, by the deadline. The essay must address the eligibility criteria for each of the scholarships that you are applying for. Only one written essay of no more than 300 words will be accepted. Financial Need – For scholarships that indicate “financial need required” a FAFSA Financial Aid form must be filled out and there must be some level of financial need. The form is on the FAFSA website: www. fafsa.ed.gov/#. If you have questions regarding the FAFSA form, please contact the UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office at 715-836-3373. Please apply for financial aid by March 1.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Second Monday in March SELECTION PROCEDURE: Applications are screened by the Nursing and Health Sciences Scholarship Committee. Committee recommendation made to the Dean of Nursing.SELECTION DEADLINE: Prior to the Nursing scholarship dinnerNOTIFICATION: The Dean sends the recipient a notification letter and completes and submits a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.SPECIAL NOTES: A thank you note should be sent to Mr. Tim Shelley, and forward it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214. |
