Sentry Insurance Student Leadership

2 freshmen and renewal awards at $2,500

The Sentry Insurance Foundation will award two scholarships to incoming freshmen attending UW-Eau Claire to promote educational opportunities and encourage the educational pursuit of gifted academic leaders who have chosen to major in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Computer Sciences or IS, Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, or Mathematics (Actuarial Science). The scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years, as long as the recipient continues to maintain eligibility requirements. Recipients of the award will be selected based upon the following criteria: Candidates must rank in the top 15% of their graduating class and show a record of involvement in extracurricular activities, community activities, charitable organizations and other endeavors that indicate significant leadership records and outstanding leadership potential. Financial need will be considered on an informal basis, especially in a tie-breaking situation. The annual scholarships are renewable for up to three years as long as the recipient maintains a GPA of 3.3 or above and continues to pursue a degree in one of the six areas of study outlined above.

The Office of Admissions will coordinate the selection of recipients.

The Admissions staff will send written formal notification to the recipients of their selection with a copy sent to Sentry, the Financial Aid and Foundation offices. In continuing years, the Financial Aid Office will confirm eligibility and continue the awarding of the scholarship and notification to recipients for the second through fourth year and notify Sentry and the Foundation of the continuing students. Recipients should write a thank you letter to the Sentry Insurance Foundation and forward it the Foundation Office, S-214.
