Foundation Scholarships

Schieffer, Kevin J. Journalism

For a continuing junior or senior Communication and Journalism student with a demonstrated interest and involvement in international communications/relations and travel abroad. Applicants should give evidence of being effective communicators.

Application forms are available in the Communication and Journalism Department office. The application requires information on activities, travel and demonstrated interest in international affairs. A personal reference, verifying the applicant’s international experiences, is required.

A committee of the Department of Communication and Journalism faculty will make the selection with assistance of friends of Kevin J. Schieffer, Ph.D.

The recipient will be sent a notification letter from the chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism. The chair will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

A letter of gratitude addressed to Ms. Ann Hoffman should be submitted directly to the Department of Communication and Journalism program assistant. The winner of this award is expected to attend the Department of Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.
