Foundation Scholarships

Schildt, Carl S. Memorial Biology

This scholarship is open to students who will have junior or senior standing at the start of the upcoming fall semester, are majoring in Biology and have demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement, and are within the top 10% of biology majors. Financial need does not necessarily need to be a factor in the selection of the recipient. The memorial fund in memory of Carl and Ebba Schildt may also be used to fund the purchase of equipment or needed supplies for the Biology Department rather than fund a scholarship.

Second Monday in March

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Department of Biology Scholarship Committee, which has faculty representation from the major subdisciplines of biology. Applications will be evaluated both in terms of their academic merit and their compatibility with award eligibility criteria.

April 30

The department Chair will inform the recipient by letter. The Chair will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.
