Rounds, Erle & Alice Porter

AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Candidates must rank in the top 25% of their graduating class and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT). Or, if they are from an unranked class, students will need to have their counselor verify rank in the top 25% and have the required ACT/SAT score. Descendants of Erle and Alice Porter Rounds will be given fair consideration for the scholarship and are encouraged to contact the Office of Admissions. Descendants must self-identify to the Office of Admissions by February 1.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
The general incoming freshmen scholarship application is available online at: www.uwec.edu/admissions/paying.htm. Admitted, eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. If you feel you meet the application requirements and cannot access the online application, please contact the Admissions Office at (715)836-5415.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 1
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Admissions Office will coordinate the selection of recipients.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Screening of candidates will begin in December and continue through spring. Final selections will be made no later than April 30 (or until recipients have accepted all the awards.)
NOTIFICATION:
The Office of Admissions will notify scholarship recipients (and their high school counselors once an award is accepted.)
SPECIAL NOTES:
This endowed scholarship is established by Margaret Rounds Verlautz in memory of her parents, Erle and Alice Porter Rounds. The recipient is encouraged to send a note of appreciation to Mrs. Verlautz, c/o UWEC Foundation Office.
