AMOUNT: Renewals only AVAILABLE: As authorized ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The purpose of the Rath Scholarships is to attract and retain highly academically qualified students to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Those students should: have maintained an overall minimum academic average of 3.8 in high school; finished in the top 5% nationally on the composite ACT; applied to UW-Eau Claire within two years of high school graduation; and be a college freshman (or sophomore or junior in the case of Wisconsin college transferees) intending to seek admission to the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Business. Preference shall be given to Wisconsin residents. Non-residents are eligible if no Wisconsin residents of equivalent quality are available. The award is renewable for up to four years contingent upon satisfactory grades of a cumulative GPA and major/minor GPA of 3.0.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: The Admissions Office will mail scholarship applications to eligible freshmen and transfers. Students must submit a completed application as required by the coordinator.APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 1 or before SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Admissions Office will coordinate recipient selection.SELECTION DEADLINE: Selection will be made no later than April 30.NOTIFICATION: The Admissions Office will notify recipients, high school guidance counselors and/or UW College student services directors. A copy of the award letter should be sent to the UW-EC Financial Aid and Foundation Offices. The Rath Foundation is to receive copies of the applications of students awarded the scholarships along with other information the UW-Eau Claire Foundation must provide.SPECIAL NOTES: equal *to full in-state tuition, fees, and textbook rental. The *maximum annual award to a Rath Scholar shall be $7,000 *(which sum may be increased up to 3% per year). The *determining factor in establishing the level of an award *shall be the amount needed to secure the applicant’s *attendance at UW-EC. These are merit-based, not need-*based, scholarships. |
