Foundation Scholarships

For a continuing junior with liberal arts major who has demonstrated service and leadership to the campus and/or community and shows promise as a future community leader. The student(s) should have a broad interest in the liberal arts. Preference will be given to Communication and Journalism majors.

Application forms are available from the Department of Communication and Journalism office. The application requires information on activities, honors and service.

A committee of Communication and Journalism faculty members will select the recipient.

The recipient will be sent a notification letter from the Chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

A letter of gratitude addressed to Mrs. Ruth Anne Polk should be submitted directly to the Department of Communication and Journalism program assistant. The winners of this scholarship are expected to attend the Department of Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.
