AMOUNT: Total $2,000--One $1,000 award to a business student with sophomore standing (30-65 credits) and one $1,000 award to a business student with junior or senior standing.AVAILABLE: Annually ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Sophomore Scholarship: Open to UW-Eau Claire College of Business (COB) majors who are economically disadvantaged as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and/or members of any of the following American ethnic minority groups: African-American, American Indian, Southeast Asian or Hispanic American. Satisfactory completion (grade of C or better) of at least three of the following pre-business courses: ACCT 201, ACCT 202, ECON 103, ECON 104, OR IS 240; Full-time student standing (12+ credits) during the semester the scholarship will have been received; Good academic standing and a GPA of at least 2.75. Junior/Senior Scholarship: Open to UW-Eau Claire College of Business (COB) majors who are economically disadvantaged as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and/or members of any of the following American ethnic minority groups: African- American, American Indian, Southeast Asian or Hispanic American. Full-time student standing (12+ credits) during the semester the scholarship will have been received; Good academic standing and a GPA of at least 2.75; Involvement or leadership within the University or with University clubs, activities, or student societies or organizations.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Sophomore Scholarship: Please submit the following information to the COB Scholarship Committee: completed application form, available from the COB; and a campus copy of transcript. An incomplete application packet will disqualify a student from scholarship consideration. Junior/Senior Scholarship: Please submit the following information to the COB Scholarship Committee: completed application form, available from the COB; a campus copy of transcript; and a resume showing evidence of involvement in student organizations, academic excellence, and leadership. An incomplete application packet will disqualify a student from scholarship consideration.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Contact College of Business for more information.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The COB Scholarship Committee will review the applications in consultation with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Financial Aid Office. Two finalists will be selected. The applications of the two finalists will be shared with Thomas “Jake” Leinenkugel, President, Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, for his review before the final selection. The COB Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.SELECTION DEADLINE: Before the end of Spring Semester NOTIFICATION: The Assistant Dean will send a letter to the recipients. The Assistant Dean will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office for each recipient.SPECIAL NOTES: This scholarship was created in 2000 by the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company and its parent company, SAB Miller Brewing Company, to honor Leinenkugel’s, one of the Chippewa Valley’s oldest businesses, and to demonstrate both companies’ commitment to students and scholarship.
