Foundation Scholarships

Classified Staff

Each year, members of the permanent Classified Staff at UW-EC will be eligible to nominate one student if he/she meets the following criteria: The student must attend UW-Eau Claire full time; returning students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above; a student may be nominated once per year. A current or retired UW-EC permanent Classified Staff member should sign the nomination form.

Application forms are available in the Human Resources Office or from any Classified Staff member or online at www.uwec.edu/hr/forms.htm. Return the completed application form with appropriate Classified Staff member signature to Human Resources. Questions can be directed to the Foundation Office, 836- 5630.

Apply by 4:30 p.m. on the first Monday in April

Scholarship recipients will be randomly selected from the pool of applicants by the Classified Scholarship Committee.

The Chair of the Scholarship Committee will notify the recipient by April 20. The recipient will have ten days to return the acceptance form sent to the student with the notification letter. After that form is received, the Classified Staff Scholarship Committee will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office. The scholarship will be paid to the recipient’s account in the Business Office during the following academic year.

The amount of the scholarships and number of awards will vary, depending upon the amount in the endowed scholarship fund. Scholarship recipients should send a thank-you letter addressed to the Classified Staff Committee, Human Resources, UW-Eau Claire. If there is a recognition reception, the recipient will be requested to attend and accept a scholarship certificate.
