Foundation Scholarships

Murray, Arthur L. Memorial Journalism

Meritorious performance will be the primary basis for choosing the recipient(s) of this award. This service may be in reporting, copy writing, layout, editing, artwork, or any related function to a University publication, including: The View, The Spectator, The Flip Side, Connections, WUEC-FM, TV-10, NOTA, and UW-Eau Claire News Bureau’s news releases, as well as meritorious performance of a student for a University web publication. The recipient must be a continuing student.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Students do not apply for this award. Candidates are nominated by the advisor/supervisor of the named publications above. Details at www.uwec.edu/cj.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: N/A

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The Department of Communication and Journalism Scholarship Committee will select the recipient. Advisors who nominate students will also be included in the selection process.

SELECTION DEADLINE: early to mid April

NOTIFICATION:

The Chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism will send notification to the recipient and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

SPECIAL NOTES:

A letter of gratitude addressed to the Arthur L. Murray Journalism Fund should be submitted directly to the department program assistant. The winner of this award is expected to attend the Department of Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.
