Foundation Scholarships

Marshall, Owen Memorial Biology

Must be a junior or senior student majoring in biology with an emphasis in Invertebrate Biology (Entomology, Parasitology, and Invertebrate Zoology) and who has demonstrated strong scholastic achievement and performance. Financial need is to be considered but is not necessarily a basis for selection. A student may not receive this scholarship more than once.

Any junior or senior student interested in applying for the scholarship should obtain an application form from secretary of the Department of Biology. The student should file the completed application form with the Chairperson of the Department of Biology.

The Biology Scholarship Committee will make selection based upon the criteria above. The Biology Scholarship Committee has faculty representation from the major sub- disciplines of biology. Applications will be evaluated both in terms of their academic merit and their compatibility with award eligibility criteria.

An award letter will be sent to the recipient by the Chair of the Department of Biology in May. The Chair will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office. The annual recipient will be honored at the biology department scholarship reception held in the spring.

The recipient should send a thank you letter to Mrs. Marshall in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office S-214 at the time the award is made.
