Friedli, Gary P. Memorial


AMOUNT: $500
AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Available to students entering their junior year currently enrolled at UW-Eau Claire, in good academic standing with a 3.00 grade point average or better, and a history major.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Applications will be available in the History Department office, HHH 701.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
The form should be returned to the History Department office by March 5.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
As determined by department chair and/or department scholarship committee.
SELECTION DEADLINE: On or about May 15
NOTIFICATION:
The chairperson of the History Department will notify the recipient by letter, with a copy sent to Dorene Kulpa- Friedli and John and Ruth Friedli. The Chair will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
It is requested that the recipient send a letter of appreciation to the Friedli family in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office. This scholarship is in memory of Gary Friedli who received his undergraduate degree in 1984 and was a history major. He pursued his master’s degree in International Studies at the University of Denver and received it in 1988. Gary was a special agent with the U.S. Customs Service and was killed in the line of duty in southeast Arizona. He was 36 years old and is survived by his wife and daughter.
