Foundation Scholarships

Lorentz College of Business/Athletic

Admission to the College of Business. Past participation in men’s or women’s athletics, preferably basketball. Athletic eligibility has been completed or relinquished.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Application/nomination forms are available from the College of Business office.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: The form, with appropriate

supporting information, should be returned to the College of Business office by April 1.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The College of Business, in consultation with a member of the Lorentz family, will select the recipient.

SELECTION DEADLINE: May 1

NOTIFICATION:

By letter, the College of Business will notify the recipient. The Dean will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.

SPECIAL NOTES:

This scholarship was created by Dr. Richard D. Lorentz who spent many years (20-25) working with the athletic programs of the University as a member of the Chain Gang for the football program, timer and scoreboard operator for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, and timer for the track program. He also enjoyed the many athletes who were in his business classes. The recipient should send a letter of thanks to Barbara Lorentz, in care of the UW- Eau Claire Foundation, S-214.
