AMOUNT: $300 AVAILABLE: ANNUALLY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be enrolled at UW-EC for at least 8 semester credits with at least one math course, have declared mathematics as their major or minor; be of freshman or sophomore standing and have completed Math 114 in one of the last two semesters or summer session; or be a freshman and have completed a math course numbered 215 or above (excluding Math 245); and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Students must complete and submit an application, available in the Math Office. Each student must write a 50-to-100 word statement concerning career objectives and have one math faculty member (not necessarily from UWEC) write a letter of support to the Chair of the Math Awards Committee.APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 20 SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selection will be based on demonstrated performance and potential in math which may include such things as GPA, career objective, communication skills, creativity, ingenuity, reliability, enthusiasm for the discipline, and participation in class and other Math activities.SELECTION DEADLINE: March 1 NOTIFICATION: The recipient will receive notification from the Chair of the Math Department and will be honored at the University Awards Banquet. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.SPECIAL NOTES: A thank you note to Judy Krajewski Snudden should be sent in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office. |
