ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The recipient must be a nursing major and accepted into the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at UW-Eau Claire. The student must be full-time, a citizen of the United States of America and a junior, senior, graduate or RN/BSN completion candidate. The recipient should demonstrate good potential for a career in nursing. Financial need may be considered. A junior recipient may be granted another award in the senior year if satisfactory progress has been made.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Application Forms: Students who are admitted to the nursing program at UW-Eau Claire will receive an email in late February/early March when the scholarship application is ready and available. The email will include the path to the online application forms. PART ONE is filled online and submitted electronically. PART TWO (the essay and activities form) is filled out online and printed off, signed and submitted to the Dean’s Assistant Office, Nursing 103, by the deadline. Only one essay can be submitted. The essay must address the eligibility criteria for each of the scholarships that they wish to apply for.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Second Monday in March
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Scholarship committee will review applications and make recommendations for initial and continuing recipients.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Prior to the Nursing and Health Sciences scholarship dinner
NOTIFICATION:
The Dean will notify the students by letter and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The recipient should write a thank-you note to the family of John Kildahl, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214. One-half of the scholarship will be paid each semester beginning in the fall. If a junior student is not selected, the Committee may make a one-year award to a senior, graduate or RN/BSN completion student.
