Foundation Scholarships

Hearst, William Randolph

This award is funded by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation under the auspices of the ASJMC: Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication. Grants from the Hearst Journalism Awards Program are received based on student entries in monthly writing, photojournalism, news and/or multimedia competitions. Scholarships are awarded to continuing Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, or Print Journalism majors for outstanding achievement in writing, photo, broadcast, and/or multimedia journalism.

The Communication and Journalism Department Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.

The Chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism will send notification to the recipient and complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

A letter of gratitude addressed to Program Director, Journalism Awards Program, William Randolph Hearst Foundation should be submitted directly to the Department of Communication and Journalism program associate. The winner of this award is expected to attend the Department of Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.
