Foundation Scholarships

The applicant must participate in a choral organization for the entire academic year, have minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and have provided service to the Choral Division. If the applicant is an incoming freshman, the student should carry a high school GPA of 3.5. During even-numbered academic years (using the fall date) the award shall go to a non-music major who sings in the Statesmen, beginning with the 2002-03 academic year. During odd-numbered academic years, beginning with 2003-2004, the award shall go to a music major who sings in the Concert Choir.

Application forms are available in the Office of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts.

The Choral Division Staff will review all applicants. During even-numbered academic years (using the fall date) the award shall go to a non-music major who sings in the Statesmen. During odd-numbered academic years, the award shall go to a music major who sings in the Concert Choir.

The recipients will receive a letter from the Director of Choral Activities of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts with a copy sent to the Financial Aid and Foundation Offices. The announcement of the award will typically be made at the awards ceremony for the Department of Music and Theatre Arts.

The recipient should send a thank-you note of appreciation to Gladys Hayes in care of the UW-EC Foundation Office in Schofield 214.
