Foundation Scholarships

Senior status (a December graduate will still be eligible). Past participation in men's or women's athletics GPA: same as eligibility for athletics.

Application/nomination forms are available in the Department of Athletics. The form, with appropriate supporting information, should be returned to the Department Office by the deadline.

Two Athletics faculty members will review the applications/nominations and select the recipient. The committee's decision will be forwarded to the Department Chair. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

Arlyn Gravunder worked as a custodian at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire from 1967-1989. He was a fan of all student and sports, especially basketball. He was a charter member of the Backcourt Club for basketball and instrumental in getting bus trips for adult fans travelling to away basketball games where fans had as good of a time on the bus as at the game. Later, Arlyn became a true fan of women’s volleyball. He was always ready to show future students and families around the campus. On his death in 1989, his family established the Arlyn W. Gravunder Kinesiology and Athletic Scholarship to honor his love of UW-Eau Claire students and athletics. Sandra Gravunder received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UW-Eau Claire and taught in the Business Education Department at Chippewa Valley Technical College from 1969-2001.
