Foundation Scholarships

Gerberich, Mary Lou and John Biology

Students who will have senior standing at the beginning of the upcoming fall semester and who are majoring in biology with an emphasis in Entomology and/or Invertebrates may apply. The student’s interest should be in one of the following areas: coelenterate through the Arthropods. If there are no qualified students in that area, the award shall be made to an outstanding rising senior biology major, regardless of the field of student. The primary consideration is a student with strong scholastic achievement and performance. Financial need is to be considered but is not required. The award is not renewable to a student.

Second Monday in March

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Department of Biology Scholarship Committee, which has faculty representation from the major subdisciplines of biology. Applications will be evaluated both in terms of their academic merit and their compatibility with award eligibility criteria.

April 30

The Department Chair will send a letter to the recipient and complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.

Recipients should send a thank-you to Mary Dale, John Gerberich, Jr. and Anne M. Waddington, the children of John and Mary Gerberich, in care of the UW-EC Foundation, in Schofield 214, Eau Claire, WI 54701.
