Foundation Scholarships

Duxbury, Ralph Biological Sciences

The Ralph Duxbury Biology Scholarship is to be awarded to a biology major who is an exceptional academic student, with a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or greater. Because Mr. Duxbury’s lifetime was spent in biology research, it is suggested that a slight preference be given to a top student who may be leaning toward a career in research or headed toward graduate studies in biology. In the event of a tie, financial need will be considered, but it is not required.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Department of Biology Scholarship Committee, which has faculty representation from the major subdisciplines of biology. Applications will be evaluated both in terms of their academic merit and their compatibility with award eligibility criteria.

Official notification will be sent to the recipient by the Chair of Biology. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

The recipient should send a thank-you note to Ralph Duxbury in care of the Foundation Office.
