Diversity Incentive

The Diversity Incentive Scholarship exists to recruit and retain students of color or economically disadvantaged students enrolled at UW-Eau Claire. This scholarship is funded by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. It is awarded in conjunction with federal and state financial aid grants and/or private scholarships. UW-Eau Claire students of color or economically disadvantaged students are eligible. Priority will be given to students who have successfully completed the Blugold Beginnings Program. Recipients must participate in Multicultural Affairs’ student retention activities.

March 15th. Screening of candidates and awarding of scholarships will begin March 15th and continue until all scholarships have been awarded.

The Diversity Incentive Scholarship application is available online at: www.uwec.edu/multicultural.htm. Admitted, eligible students are encouraged to apply. If you meet the eligibility requirements and cannot access the online application, please contact the Office of Multicultural Affairs at 715-836-3367 or 888-895-4903. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) via online at www.fafsa.ed.gov in order to apply for other financial aid. If other grants or awards are available, they will be counted as part of the Diversity Incentive award prior to the addition of the financial support from the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. Office of Multicultural Affairs staff will determine scholarship recipients.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs will notify scholarship recipients after financial aid information has been packaged and reviewed. The Office of Multicultural Affairs will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office. Scholarship awards are presented at the annual Office of Multicultural Affairs’ scholarship banquet in September.
