ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Recipient must show exceptional promise and ability as a journalist, including demonstrated interest in and aptitude for a reporting or editing career. Outstanding contributions to on campus journalism, including excellence in reporting, commitment to the high journalistic standards exemplified by Ann Devroy in her career.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Early to mid April
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Department of Communication and Journalism Scholarship Committee and The Spectator adviser will select a recipient.

NOTIFICATION:
The Chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism will send notification to the recipient and complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The Ann Devroy Fellowship was established in 1998 to recognize the outstanding journalistic work of 1970 alumna Ann Devroy (1948-1997) and to stimulate and assist Journalism students to emulate her professional achievements. Letters of gratitude addressed to Mr. Milton Coleman, Mr. Mark Matthews, and to the Devroy Scholarship Committee should be submitted directly to the Department of Communication and Journalism program assistant. The winner of this award is expected to be present at the annual Ann Devroy Memorial Forum held in late April unless the CJ Department chair excuses him or her for an unavoidable absence, such as studying abroad or in National Student Exchange. The recipient is also expected to attend the Communication and Journalism Student Excellence Recognition Reception held the last day of spring classes.
