AMOUNT: $1000 AVAILABLE: ANNUALLY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The scholarship will be awarded during the spring semester to a junior accounting major with financial need who has been admitted to the UWEC College of Business. The student must have completed 60-90 credits by June of current academic year. The recipient must: show above-average academic achievement with a 3.0 or above grade point average; have participated in University, department or community organizations; have potential for leadership as displayed by activities while in college; be given to an individual with the ability and desire to enter the accounting profession. The recipient must come from the LarsonAllen service area and who desires to remain in that area. In the event of a tie, the award will be given to the student with the highest overall GPA at that time.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Department of Accounting and Finance determines.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications become available the week before spring break and are due the week after spring break.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The selection of candidates will be made by the department scholarship committee in consultation with representatives of LarsonAllen. Each award shall not be divided among two or more candidates.SELECTION DEADLINE: Spring Semester, before University Honors Banquet.NOTIFICATION: One half of the award will become available at each of the subsequent two semesters. The department should send a completed “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.SPECIAL NOTES: This scholarship was established through contributions to UW-Eau Claire by alumni and other associates employed by LarsonAllen as a manifestation of their esteem for the excellent job done in preparation of accountants for the profession. The purpose of this fund is to recognize the contributor’s high regard for broad participation in activities, academic and non-academic, and their desire to enhance educational opportunities for young people. The recipient should send a thank-you letter to LarsonAllen in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, S-214. |
