Campbell, Charles and Ann Art


AMOUNT: $400
AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Applicants must be sophomore or junior art majors (BFA, BA, 36-credit Liberal Arts BA, art education majors). The student must demonstrate by performance and commitment a desire to excel both in art courses and in overall academic course work. A 3.0 GPA in all coursework is required.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
The student must submit to the Art Department Chair a completed application form, available in the Art Office. On the application, please respond to the following question: “Have you participated in an Art & Design Field Trip or do you intend to do so before graduation?” Along with the application a 200 to 300-word statement concerning goals and objectives in completing college, and looking to the future. The student’s major art advisor should provide a supporting statement included with the application. The student should have available either actual work completed in art studio courses or good slide or photo reproductions of recent work at UW-Eau Claire.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
In March. Deadline announced by the department in late February or early March.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Department of Art and Design Scholarship Committee will review the applications and select the recipient(s).
SELECTION DEADLINE:
The Scholarship Committee selects the recipient(s) sometime between the application deadline and the annual juried student art show.
NOTIFICATION:
The recipient(s) will be announced at the annual juried student art show in the Foster Gallery. A “Scholarship Award Form” will be forwarded to the Financial Aid office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Charles and Ann Campbell have had a long association with UW-Eau Claire. Charles came to the university as a member of the Art Department faculty in 1968 and taught art until his retirement in 1990. Charles served as Chair of the Art Department for 15 years. His wife, Ann, was a long-time kindergarten teacher in Eau Claire, most notably at the old Park School on campus. She also retired from teaching in 1990. Recipients are expected to send a thank you note to Charles and Ann Campbell in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214.
