AMOUNT: $500.00 AVAILABLE: Annually ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Demonstration of contribution to the visual or performing arts and/or preserving the beauty of creation through environmental activism through the arts. Submit a statement (written, photographic, video graphic or any artistic medium or combination of media) that will demonstrate your prowess in the visual and/or performing arts. Open to sophomore through junior applicants, on a rotating basis, between art, music or theatre majors or minors or persons who will be pursuing a photography career following graduation. Grades are not the primary factor; creative ability and quality work in the arts are important.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application forms are available from the awarding department. For 2010-11, that will be Music (Department of Music and Theatre Arts), for 2011-12 Theatre (Department of Music and Theatre Arts), and for 2012-13 Art (Department of Art). When the cycle is complete, the rotation then begins again.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Check with the awarding department in late February.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The recipient will be selected by a Scholarship Committee from the awarding department according to the rotation schedule.SELECTION DEADLINE: June 1 NOTIFIACTION: Official notification will be sent to the student by department chair of the awarding department. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.SPECIAL NOTES: James H. Christoffersen was a photographer at UW-Eau Claire from August 1964 through December 6, 1992. Prior to that he had been a commercial and studio photographer in Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Eau Claire. He was graduated from Layton School of Art, Milwaukee. He specialized in product and architectural photography with particular emphasis on lighting. |
