AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Candidates must rank in the top 25% of their graduating class and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT). Or, if they are from an unranked class, students will need to have their counselor verify a rank in the top 25% and have the required ACT/SAT score. Transfer students will be considered if they meet the freshman qualifications (ACT/SAT and high school rank) and present a transfer cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
The general incoming freshmen scholarship application is available online at: www.uwec.edu/admissions/paying.htm. Admitted, eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. If you feel you meet the application requirements and cannot access the online application, please contact the Admissions Office at (715)836-5415.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
February 1 (March 1 for transfer students)
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Admissions Office will coordinate the selection of recipients.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Screening of candidates will begin in December and continue through the spring. Final selections will be made no later than April 30 (or until recipients have accepted all the awards).
NOTIFICATION:
The Office of Admissions will notify scholarship recipients (and their high school counselors once the award is accepted).
SPECIAL NOTES:
This scholarship is superseded by larger Foundation awards (e.g., National Merit, Diversity, etc.). It supersedes the Freshman Honor Scholarship.
