Foundation Scholarships

Blumenthal, Albert & Marie Sociology

Applicants must: be a full-time Sociology major; have a resident and cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of application; have completed at least 60 credits by the beginning of the semester in which the award is made; and may not be a previous recipient of the award.

A letter of application outlining educational and career goals and primary areas of sociological interest should be submitted to the Chair of the Department of Sociology, along with a current transcript of all work completed. The student should also ask a department faculty member to provide a letter of support for the application.

A scholarship committee consisting of the Chair and two faculty chosen by the department shall make the selection decision.

May 15 prior to the academic year in which the award is given.

The recipient will receive official notification prior to June 1, from the Chair of the Department of Sociology. The department will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
