AMOUNT: $500 award for first year, second year renewal at $1,000.AVAILABLE: Two awards ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The Charles and Deborah Graupner Blugold Promise Scholarships shall be awarded to outstanding freshman students (30 credits or less) who have graduated from high school in Wisconsin, been accepted for admission to UW-Eau Claire and demonstrate significant financial need as initially reported by the students and verified by the UW- Eau Claire Financial Aid Office. The Graupner Blugold Promise Scholarships have a preference for students who are single parents or have experienced other nontraditional pathways to the university. To be considered, students have a well-rounded high school record of academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities. In general a student who has a zest for life and a desire to get the most out of his/her college education will receive primary consideration. The student can have a few (30 or less) transfer credits or credits from past enrollment in college. Recipients who have a successful freshman year and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 by the end of their first year will receive a $1,000 scholarship their sophomore year.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application forms are available from Nontraditional Student Services (NSS), Schofield 226, 715-836-3259 or online at www.uwec.edu/nssAPPLICATION DEADLINE: September 1 SELECTION PROCEDURE: The NSS adviser in consultation with the Financial Aid Office will select recipients.SELECTION DEADLINE: End of SeptemberNOTIFICATION: The recipient of the scholarship will receive a letter from the Nontraditional Student Services Adviser. NSS will complete and send a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.SPECIAL NOTES: Charles Graupner graduated from UW-Eau Claire with an economics major and political science minor. He is a partner with the Michael Best & Freidrich law firm in Milwaukee. Debi Graupner attended UW-Eau Claire for two years and then transferred to UW-Madison, where she earned a business degree. She works as an interior decorator. The recipient should address a thank-you letter to Charles and Deborah Graupner, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield 214. |
