The process is based off of the student’s admissions profile including: transcripts, academic history, list of involvements and essays. These are among the criteria that will be reviewed for scholarship purposes.SELECTION DEADLINE: Screening of candidates will begin in December for some early awards and continue through the spring or until awards are accepted.NOTIFICATION: Scholarship award notices will be sent to scholarship recipients by the beginning of April of student’s senior year. If scholarships are declined, they will be re- awarded to alternates through the summer months.SPECIAL NOTES: John Kaczmarczyk, a 1972 UW-Eau Claire graduate from a dairy farm north of Thorp, recognized the continuing need to help farm family children afford an education, so he established the Kaczmarczyk Kaahui Memorial Blugold Promise Scholarship for students from farm families who have academic potential but limited income. The scholarship was established in memory of his parents, Stanley and Delores, and his sister, Karen Kaahui. Karen graduated cum laude in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She died in 2004. The recipient should address a thank-you letter to John Kaczmarczyk, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield 214. |
