AMOUNT: $500 Available: Annually ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: This scholarship will be awarded annually to one student from Sawyer County who has an outstanding academic record and who has financial need.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Contact the Financial Aid Office for application information.APPLICATION DEADLINE: As determined by the Financial Aid Office.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Financial Aid Office staff will select the recipient based upon the above criteria.SELECTION DEADLINE: No later than July 1 NOTIFICATION: Pat Montanye from the Financial Aid Office will notify the recipient by letter.SPECIAL NOTES: The Yurkovich Family Scholarship was established to honor Mary Yurkovich Nastali, who grew up in Sawyer County. One of nine children, she didn’t get to go on to high school, but she valued education and saw her own three children through advanced college degrees. Though she didn’t live out her life in Wisconsin, before she passed away, she was delighted to know that this scholarship would be offered to young Sawyer County people who need a helping hand to achieve their education goals. Her family is proud to have established this fund in honor of her. The recipient should send a thank-you letter to Mary Ellen Alea in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield Hall 214. |
