ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving and promising UW-Eau Claire student who will be participating in a study abroad experience. Applicant must be accepted into the study abroad program.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
The application is available online through the Center for International Education website http://www.uwec.edu/cie/studyabroad/.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
August 15 for spring programs, if no fall award was made April 15 for fall/academic year programs
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Mid-September for spring programs Mid-may for fall/academic year programs
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The UW-Eau Claire Study Abroad Grant Committee reviews applications and recommends the recipient to the Director of the Center for International Education.
NOTIFICATION:
Notification will be sent by CIE to the recipient by email. The CIE Director will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Bill Underwood graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 1993 with a degree in Political Science. Bill participated in a study abroad program, went to Honduras while a UW-Eau Claire student as part of an Art History grant, and was a swimmer. Bill has a law degree from the University of Oregon and currently works as senior corporate counsel for Target. Recipient should write a letter of thanks to Mr. William Underwood and forward it to the Foundation Office, S-214. Recipient is also asked to write Mr. Underwood a letter reflecting on his/her study abroad experiences and submit to the Foundation Office.
