Foundation Scholarships

Strop, Jean & Jerry Exc. in Math and Comp Science

$3,000 in total awards, minimum award of $1,000.

Annually

Applicants must be majoring in the Actuarial Sciences, and meet all of the following criteria: applicant must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum Mathematics/Computer Science GPA of 3.5; applicant must provide evidence of employment of at least 150 hours over the 24-month period prior to application; and applicant must have worked on the Foundation Annuity project during the 2011-12 academic year.

To be considered, a student must complete an application form, available in the Mathematics Office.

February 20

Selection will be based on demonstrated performance and potential in math including such things as GPA, career objective, communication skills, creativity, ingenuity, reliability, enthusiasm for the discipline, and participation in class and other Department activities.

March 1

The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.

Recipient should write a letter of thanks to Dr. Jean and Jerry Strop and forward it to the Foundation Office, S-214.
