Foundation Scholarships

Small, Clara B. Memorial - English

This award is available to a nontraditional student majoring in English in either the College of Arts and Sciences or College of Education and Human Sciences, graduate or undergraduate, who is enrolled at least half time and whose GPA is 3.5 or above.

Applicants should obtain their application forms from the English Department Office. Applicants must submit a letter of application, a current transcript, and a resume along with the names of two UW-Eau Claire English professors who can speak to their qualifications for this scholarship.

March 1

Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the English Department Selection Committee on the basis of academic performance or evidence of academic potential, financial need, and the quality of essay.

Mid June

The Selection Committee notifies the recipient. Enclosed with the notification letter shall be a biographical sketch of Clara B. Small explaining why this scholarship came to exist. The Committee Chair completes and submits a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
