SPECIAL NOTES:
This scholarship was established in 2007 by L. Rodney Sheffer, a 1956 UW-Eau Claire graduate who had a distinguished career as a high school teacher who taught both biology and chemistry. After teaching for six years in Chippewa Falls, two years in Minneapolis, and from 1965-1991 in Bloomington, MN, he retired from teaching in 1991. He earned his Masters in Science Education in 1963 from the University of Utah. Mr. Sheffer received great strength and support from such UW-Eau Claire professors as Mark Fay, Floyd Krause, and John Gerberich. He established the scholarship to honor their influence and to encourage and motivate future generations of biology teachers.
