Seawell, Scott Memorial

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The Scott Seawell Memorial Scholarship is awarded to outstanding students majoring in Computer Science at UW- Eau Claire. Students may apply for the scholarship in the spring semester of their sophomore year, but recipients must have at least junior standing during the first semester the scholarship is used. Recipients must have demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.5 or above. Applicants must demonstrate a record of leadership at UW- Eau Claire, especially in computer science, and also demonstrated involvement in campus and community activities. The scholarship may be renewable if the student makes satisfactory progress in the computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering coursework. Student must re-apply to be considered for renewal of the scholarship.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 1
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Department of Computer Science Scholarship Committee will select the recipient based upon the criteria above.
SELECTION DEADLINE: March 15
NOTIFICATION:
The recipient will receive official notification prior to the end of March from the Chair of the Department of Computer Science. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The recipient should send a thank-you letter to Todd Seawell in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield 214. The Scott Seawell Memorial Scholarship was established to recognize Scott’s generosity to higher education and to celebrate his life.
