Schneider, Katherine, Ph.D. Psych. Career Access


AMOUNT: $500
AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Recipient must be a continuing undergraduate Psychology major whose performance exemplifies excellence and commitment to University or community service. Student must have a documented disability, a minimum resident GPA and major GPA of 3.0 or above, and a record of service /volunteer work, either in the University or the community.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Applicants should submit the following to the Psychology Department Office: transcript and application letter (2 to 3 double-spaced pages maximum) with narrative description of past activities /volunteer work experience, previous awards, recognitions or scholarships; and outline their service to the University and community. The student should also answer the question, “How could this scholarship and the opportunity to have a mentor help further your career in Psychology?”
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
The second Friday in April
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The recipient will be selected by the Katherine Schneider Psychology Career Access Scholarship Committee based upon the above criteria.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Prior to the Psychology Awards Reception.
NOTIFICATION:
The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Psychology Awards Reception, which is typically held the Friday night before spring Commencement. The recipient is expected to be present to accept a scholarship certificate. The Chair of the Katherine Schneider Psychology Career Access Scholarship Committee will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office so that the scholarship funds can be paid on the recipient’s account in the Business Office the following fall.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Each recipient should send a thank-you letter to Dr. Katherine Schneider in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214.
