ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding kinesiology major who will be a senior during the year he/she receives the scholarship award. The recipient must be enrolled in the Human Performance Program and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The recipient also must show demonstrated leadership and service related to the major and/or profession.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Obtain application form from the Department of Kinesiology. The application form, along with appropriate supporting information, should be returned by March 15th to the Department of Kinesiology Office.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Last Friday of March
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Department of Kinesiology Scholarship Committee will review the applications and select the recipient.
SELECTION DEADLINE: Prior to the end of spring semester.
NOTIFICATION:
The Chair of the Scholarship Committee or the Chair of the department will notify the recipient. The Department Chair will submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The Jason Schluter Memorial Scholarship was established in 2007 in memory of Jason Schluter, a 23-year old senior kinesiology major who died March 20, 2007, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Georgia. The intent of the scholarship is to support the educational aspirations of future students who follow in Jason’s footsteps, have a similar zest for life and exhibit many of the outstanding qualities that made him a valued student at UW-Eau Claire. Recipients should send a thank you note to the Department of Kinesiology, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, S- 214.
