Foundation Scholarships

Schimke, Milton M. & Jean G. Music Stdnt. Teaching

2 @ $500 One Fall Semester & One Spring Semester

BME students meeting all requirements for admission to the student teaching semester; Membership and active participation in student MENC a minimum of three successive years including their student teaching semester.

Obtain application form from the Department of Music and Theatre Arts Office.

Submit the completed application to the Coordinator of the Division of Music Education by March 15, for the Fall Semester Scholarship and October 15, for the Spring Semester Scholarship.

After a review and discussion of the applications, the Division of Music Education will select the recipient. In the event that there are no eligible students for a given semester, two scholarships could be awarded the following semester.

May 1, for the Fall Semester; December 1, for Spring Semester.

The Coordinator of the Division of Music Education will notify the recipient and the Department Chair of the Division’s selection. The Department Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office. When convenient, the Department of Music and Theatre Arts will announce the award at an awards ceremony.

It is suggested that each recipient send a thank-you letter to Dr. Milton and Jean Schimke in care of the Foundation Office, Schofield Hall Room 214, UW-Eau Claire, Eau Claire, WI 54702-4004. When the thank-you is received by the Foundation Office to forward to the Schimke’s, a copy of the biographical information on Dr. Schimke (Professor Emeritus - Music) and Mrs. Schimke (Retired Speech and Language Pathologist, Eau Claire Area Schools) will be sent to the scholarship recipient.
