Foundation Scholarships

Satz, Dr. Ronald N. Memorial

This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Ronald N. Satz, Provost and Vice Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Candidates must rank in the top 25% of their graduating class and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT). Preference will be given to a freshman who meets one or more of the following criteria: first generation college student, immigrant to the United States or child of an immigrant, a minority or economically disadvantaged student, or a student who shows evidence of strong commitment to social and economic justice and/or public service.

The general incoming freshmen scholarship application is available online at: www.uwec.edu/admissions/paying.htm. Admitted, eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. If you feel you meet the application requirements and cannot access the online application, please contact the Admissions Office at (715)836-5415.

February 1

The Admissions Office will coordinate the selection of recipients.

Screening of candidates will begin in December and continue through the spring. Final selections will be made no later than April 30 (or until recipients have accepted all the awards.)

The Office of Admissions will notify scholarship recipients (and their high school counselors once the award is accepted.)

It is encouraged that the recipient send a thank-you note to the Ronald Satz Family, in care of the Foundation Office, S-214.
