APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Contact the Department of Mathematics for information.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: On or about February 20
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
For 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-2010, selection will be based on demonstrated performance and potential in mathematics. Each member of the Mathematics Department Awards Committee will use the applicant's grade point average, statement of career objectives and letters of recommendation to rank the applicants. The Awards Committee will then, without discussing the ‘applicants’ arrive at a ranking using the rankings of the individual members. The applicant with highest ranking will receive the award. Ties will be broken using the same procedure on only those applicants that are tied. Starting with 2010-11, the scholarship shall be awarded by the UW-Eau Claire office of financial aid.
NOTIFICATION:
The chair of the Mathematics Department Awards Committee shall notify the recipients in writing and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Recipients should address thank you letters to Carol Davids, Mrs. Gillette’s niece, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.
