Foundation Scholarships

Noll, Michael Memorial

The Michael Noll Memorial Scholarship has been established for a biology education major at UWEC. The recipient of this scholarship must meet the following criteria: be a Biology Education Major with a grade point average of 3.4 or higher. The student must have been accepted into, or have recently applied to, the College of Education and Human Sciences. The student must have an interest in the outdoors and nature. The applicant can have financial need although this is not a primary priority. Any student at UW-Eau Claire is eligible regardless of what year they are in school.

Second Monday in March

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Department of Biology Scholarship Committee, which has faculty representation from the major subdisciplines of biology. Applications will be evaluated both in terms of their academic merit and their compatibility with award eligibility criteria.

April 30

The Chair of the Department of Biology will notify the recipient by letter and submit a completed “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.

The recipient should send a thank you letter to the Michael Noll Foundation, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, Schofield 214. Michael Noll was a student attending UW-Eau Claire at the time of his death in November 2002. Mike was an excellent student with a goal of becoming a Biology teacher at the middle or high school level. Michael also had an avid interest in hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors. This scholarship was established by the Michael Noll Foundation, family and friends in his honor. Further information about Michael can be obtained at www.MikeNollJourney.com.
