AMOUNT: $1,000 AVAILABLE: Annually ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The recipient must be currently serving or have served in any branch of the military, including Reserves and National Guard. If they have had previous military service, they must have been honorably discharged. Students, who demonstrate strong character and show great potential, especially as leaders and students, shall be given a preference. Financial need may be a consideration in the selection, but not the primary consideration. This scholarship may renewed for a second year if the recipient demonstrates continued academic progress.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Contact Diane Stegner Roadt in Records and Registration for application information.APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 15 SELECTION PROCEDURE: A list of currently enrolled students who indicate that they are currently serving in the military or who have served and have been honorably discharged will be reviewed.SELECTION DEADLINE: NOTIFICATION: Diane Stegner Roadt from the Records and Registration Office will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office as well as send an award letter to the recipient, with a copy send to Joline and Mike Morrison.SPECIAL NOTES: This scholarship was established in 2004 through memorial gifts received upon the death of Kyle Morrison, the son of UW-Eau Claire associate professors Joline and Mike Morrison. Both teach Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Kyle, who was serving in the Marine Corps, was killed in an automobile accident on May 1, 2004. He was a 2003 graduate of Memorial High School. The recipient should send a thank-you letter to Joline and Mike Morrison in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield 214. |
