Foundation Scholarships

Mark of Excellence Award

Candidates must rank in the top 25% of their graduating class and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT). Or, if they are from an unranked class, students will need to have their counselor verify a rank in the top 25% and have the required ACT/SAT score.

The general incoming freshmen scholarship application is available online at: www.uwec.edu/admissions/paying.htm. Admitted, eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. If you feel you meet the application requirements and cannot access the online application, please contact the Admissions Office at (715)836-5415.

The Admissions Office will coordinate the selection of recipients.

Screening of candidates will begin in December and continue through spring. Selections will be made no later than April 30 or until recipients have accepted all the awards.

The Office of Admissions will notify scholarship recipients (and their high school counselors once an award is accepted.)

This scholarship is superseded by larger Foundation awards (e.g., National Merit, Diversity, etc.). It supersedes the Freshman Honor Scholarship.
